Guillermo “Memo” Diaz

Coach

Guillermo “Memo” Diaz is a Borderland-raised soccer player whose path took him from Gadsden High School to the professional level. A former Gatorade New Mexico Boys Soccer Player of the Year, he played collegiately at Yavapai and UNLV before continuing his career with Laredo Heat, El Paso Locomotive FC, and Oakland Roots SC. Known as a reliable two-way defender, he developed a reputation for work rate, consistency, and contributing on both sides of the ball. As a coach, Memo uses that experience to help young players sharpen their skills, compete with purpose, and build strong habits on and off the field.

Louis “Chapa” Herrera

Louis “Chapa” Herrera

Coach

Louis “Chapa” Herrera is an El Paso native and professional soccer player whose path to the game was built through local tournaments, indoor soccer, and a tryout that earned him his first professional contract with hometown club El Paso Locomotive FC. He spent five seasons with Locomotive, making 102 appearances across all competitions and helping the club reach back-to-back Western Conference Finals in 2019 and 2020 while also winning the 2021 Copa Tejas. He later continued his career with Greenville Triumph SC, where he earned 2024 USL League One All-League Second Team honors. Louis now brings that experience into coaching, helping young players develop confidence, discipline, work rate, and a deeper understanding of the game.

Ricardo Zacarias supports player development for MLR Soccer in Las Cruces, NM.

Ricardo Zacarias is a Las Cruces native and former professional soccer player with experience in both Mexico and the United States. His professional journey began through Sueño Alianza and led to opportunities in Club América’s system, followed by time with clubs in Mexico including Club América Premier, Irapuato, Coras de Nayarit, and La Piedad. He later continued his career in the U.S. with Chattanooga Red Wolves SC and El Paso Locomotive FC. Ricardo now brings that experience into coaching, helping young players develop their technical ability, confidence, discipline, and understanding of the game.
